Hey! I'm Anthony, looking to build my career while currently part-time studying a Graduate Certificate of Data Analysis at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) to further enhance my programming and data analysis skills. I am passionate about economics, public policy and data analysis, specifically economic policy development.
Through experience studying my passions I have developed quantitative and analytical skills to solve problems with data-driven insights, building economic models and conducting empirical research with insights from data science, econometrics and other causal inference methods. Specifically, I have most experience with Python, Excel, R, and EViews for data analysis, visualisation, and economic modelling experience with both forecasting/predictive analytics and causal inference methods.
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Business with majors in Economics and Finance from Griffith University. While finishing this degree, I spent over a year working full-time implementing state level policy initiatives through administering financial assistance to businesses and individuals across multiple large government schemes. I also briefly pursued an Honours Year in Economics at UQ (University of Queensland) before deciding to pursue other opportunities.
I was involved with large and complicated policy such as the Fisheries Structural Adjustment Scheme which provided financial assistance to commercial fishing businesses that were impacted by environmental regulation.
Other policy included providing households with rebates to subsidise the cost of energy efficient home appliances, e-vehicles, and solar battery systems; contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
