Anthony P Puglisi

Hi there! I'm a passionate student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) at the University of Queensland (UQ), a 1-year rigorous program focused on building advanced knowledge in economic theory & econometrics to develop an independent thesis. My thesis will aim to provide a contribution to the literature in my two fields of interest, macroeconomics and public economics.

With a strong passion for economic analysis and public policy, I have grown crucial analytical skills which involve solving problems with data-driven insights. These skills specifically include data analysis, statistics and econometrics through Excel, Python and EViews.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Business with majors in Economics and Finance from Griffith University. While finishing this degree, I spent over a year working full-time implementing state level policy initiatives through administering financial assistance to businesses and individuals across multiple large government schemes.

I was involved with large and complicated policy such as the Fisheries Structural Adjustment Scheme which provided financial assistance to commercial fishing businesses that were impacted by environmental regulation. Other policy included providing households with rebates to subsidise the cost of energy efficient home appliances, e-vehicles, and solar battery systems; contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
